I’ve been shooting analog since I started taking photos back in the seventies but with a break when digital became mainstream. I started analog again a few years ago and all I can say is: analog has truly changed my photography and what I produce. I had only used 35mm before and I now use a medium format film camera. I also develop my own film and mostly work in black and white.
I’m also considering doing my own printing. Printing using the platinum-palladium methods. This enables total permanence and ease of working.
- The pictures are permanent. Not just a lot of pixels on stored on a disk or cloud.
- It’s more creative.
- You take less photo’s. Film slows you down.
- It looks better.
- It’s different. Why follow the crowd?
